Elon Musk denies Twitter takeover is to do with Donald Trump

Elon Musk has denied that his attempts to buy Twitter are the result of negotiations with Donald Trump.

The denial comes after widespread speculation that the banning of the former president on the podium was part of the reason why Mr Musk wanted to control us.

Mr Musk was responding directly to a report in the New York Post, which said Mr Trump had "silently encouraged him" to buy the company. It cited the chief executive of Truth Social, the smallest social media platform Mr. Trump wrote about after his ban.

In a Twitter response, Mr Musk not only denied the report but said he had not yet spoken to Mr Trump about his capture.

Although he did not explicitly deny that the former president could be allowed to return to the stage after taking office, he has stated that he is committed to continuing to write in Truth Social only.

"This is a lie," wrote Mr.Musk. "I have never been in contact, directly or indirectly, with Trump, who has publicly stated that he will only enter Truth Social."
