By Elon Musk, President and CEO of SpaceX This has been mankind's dream for a long time.

I want to make sure that we put the things we see right and do not miss anything because we will be reviewing these questions in a few years. When I thought about what to do next, I did not want to start another company; it doesn't sound like something I wanted to do again.

But if you look at life-enhancing technology — really understanding what it takes to make a person healthy — and rethinking all the possible causes of disease, that is something we should do as human beings no matter what. We have a responsibility to other forms of life to help them thrive. What would greatly influence the future of mankind? Most people would say that space travel or artificial intelligence - but I would prefer to live longer with an independent planet. Getting out of there is crucial to ensuring that everything goes smoothly on Earth and to ensure that humanity lives longer. The main reason why we have not had a space program in the last few decades is that it has been very expensive — it has cost more than anyone could have imagined without getting a lot of useful work done within any reasonable cost framework.

Why Elon Musk is the right person to lead these machines

Despite his marketing ability, Elon Musk is without a doubt one of the world's most influential designers. The creator of PayPal, Tesla Motors, and SpaceX has successfully introduced rockets into space and introduced a new era in secret travel. In fact, his company SpaceX recently reached an agreement with NASA to transport American astronauts to the International Space Station from American soil again. So when Musk talks about topics like Mars colonization, it is worth listening to what he has to say.

There is no doubt that Musk wants to make Mars a colony - and he believes it can be done with modern technology. He estimates that building a civilization would cost about US $ 200,000 per person, which would make things much better here on Earth if successful. Will we have billions going into space while billions are still trapped in the home world? Let's hope it doesn't. But according to Musk, colonization is not only necessary - it is inevitable. He predicts that mankind will have more planets over the course of a century due to overcrowding and threats of climate change at home… It seems Musk will eventually succeed in doing it sooner rather than later.

How long will it take?

SpaceX hopes to develop easy-to-use and faster rockets, which could significantly reduce launch costs. It will also launch its first passenger ships from Florida's Kennedy Space Center to Vandenberg Air Force Base, in northern California. The plan will need a major overhaul before anyone sets foot on Mars. But for Musk, all of that is part of his long-term goal: To make life on many planets, he said at today's news conference. That is what is important to humanity in general.

It will be difficult, dangerous and there will be injuries on the road ... but it is possible to do it. I think we should do it. And if we do not, we will eventually be lost. There is no other planet you can move to. And so our only option is to become a space-based civilization with many planetary species. Because otherwise if we live in one world… we will definitely disappear in the end.

How can SpaceX get there so fast

There are many other programs being done by other companies, organizations, and governments to explore the area, especially with health-related equipment on other planets. The European Space Agency (ESA) is also organizing a campaign for Jupiter's moon Europa which is considered to be the leading life-giving system in our solar system because of the oceans that scientists say can support life as we know it. They are also working on technological advances such as sending small boats into space and possibly building foundations on asteroids or planets. Another program from SpaceX called Red Dragon will send people to Mars using existing technology such as their Falcon Heavy rocket.

The SpaceX Red Dragon mission is currently under development and may not continue, but could be a sign of what will come from Elon Musk. SpaceX recently applied to U.S. regulators to ship 4,425 satellites into space as part of a project known as Starlink. The ultimate goal is to provide global internet access using these satellites however it will also help with the tracking of machines such as NASA's TESS and other space exploration projects. It’s just one of his many plans that is slowly becoming more realistic.

What other programs do other companies, organizations, and governments undertake?

NASA has announced plans to go to Mars in 2030. SpaceX, an independent space exploration company, is also working on a program to establish life in space. Their mission is in line with NASA's: send humans to capture Mars in early 2025. CEO Elon Musk elaborated on his vision of a self-sufficient city on Mars during the interview and was highly applauded by the audience.

Here are the highlights of his presentation after his talk.
Why should we go to Mars?

We have made it clear that we want to be the kind of planet we are, so eventually become a celestial civilization and go out there among the stars. Not only can you explore but eventually return to Earth, stand on your home planet - Mars-, look up and say: We did it!

What would life be like on Mars?

Mars Colonization Industry

Life on Mars would be very different from life on earth. Mars has a very low gravity, which means that people moving there will experience significant physical changes.
